Baby Crawling: 5 Tips To Help Your Baby Learn To Crawl

  • Don’t make your infant child work really hard.

Be patient with your little one. If your child starts crying and becomes agitated during playtime, it’s fine to call it off for a while. Put her on her back, rock and hold her, or let her fall asleep. It’s crucial for your kid to have positive associations with crawling practices and tummy time. Never force her. 

  • Safety must always be a priority.

Put safety first. One of the first things you must do is begin babyproofing the house, and keep the floors clean. Dirty floors may lead to baby rash, and irritated skin. If she suddenly develops dry skin or rashes, shift to a milder baby skin care routine. There are many baby skin care products and baby bath brands in Malaysia that you can choose from. 

  • Your child a lot of tummy time. 

Help your child develop its muscles by giving a lot of tummy time. This is highly beneficial for the muscles in your little one’s neck, back, legs and arms–all of which help your child to crawl. Tummy time works best in the nursery, so she can spend time on a comfortable, personal space. 

  • Encourage your child to play with both hands elevated.

Help your kid’s muscles to grow by playing with her hands while its elevated. Try putting her arms on top of a stuffed animal or pillow during tummy time. Encourage her to put her hands on elevated objects while sitting down. Just make sure she wouldn’t fall over. 

  • Lift the baby off the floor.

By lifting your child off the floor, you can help her get a good leg workout. Pick her by the armpits or arms just enough to support her entire body weight, though not too much that her feet leave the ground.
